Painted near the rugged centre of northern Scotland, Billie Appleton has painted these scenes in oils, watercolors and pastels. Loch Na Craige, near Tayside, Scotland is found just south of the Cairngorms National Park and aside from visiting these lovely places in Scotland her pilgrimages started a lot further south in England, with the birth of Romantic poetry around 1802 with William Wordsworth and Samuel Coleridge. .
Following the footsteps of John Keats who travelled with a friend up from the Lake District into the wilds of Scotland in June 1818, Billie's journey has always been parallel with the Romantic Poets of the 19th Century.
She has had successful art exhibitions in London, England as well as in Scotland. Her works were hung and sold at the Western Fair of 1987 in London and where she achieved a Western Fair Award in 1987.
She is known for her deep impressionist colors.
