Pauline Holancin (Kulha), b. 1933, born in Gatineau, Quebec, Pauline's early interest in art and talent for drawing and painting were fostered by classes at the National Art Gallery in Ottawa. As a result, the Canadian landscape tradition strongly influenced her choice of style and subject matter.
Now living just north of Toronto, alongside her companion Jake Mol, Pauline is active as artist and art instructor. A dedicated on-location painter, nature is an unfailing source of inspiration for her. Proficient in both oils and watercolour, her work can be found in many private and corporate collections in Canada and abroad. This watercolor has so much going on in a peaceful, colorful way, from the raspberry stained foreground moving along to the silver overcast river and beyond to the dark blue hazy forest below an October sky, it's a compelling study of living colors, depth and patience from a remarkable artist. One of the loveliest watercolors I own. Pauline is a listed Canadian artist with work in the National Gallery.
Note: the sky is overcast. The glass picked up a flash from the camera.
