Lisandro Lopez Baylon was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the year 1951. He studied at the Pan-American School of Arts as well as the School of Fine Arts, both situated in the city of Buenos Aires.
Baylon has lived and exhibited in Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela. In the 1970s he traveled to the United States where he was influenced by Western landscapes. He is often known for his depictions of Western scenes of Native Americans and cowboys.
He paints deeply colored landscapes and of course, the people where he visits. He works mainly in oils and watercolors. His best works are the indigenous peoples of North America, so clearly drawn with those brilliant, dramatic colors.
