Big Hole Fishing Camp
Our camp is located in a remote area and local staff live offsite in the community, though onsite accommodation is possible and can be included in the compensation package. A typical shift schedule is 6 days on 2 days off, commencing at 6 am until 3 pm.
Our camps are drug and alcohol-free workplaces.. All new staff are required to complete pre-employment onboarding orientations. Our camp team members include kitchen staff, cleaners, hunting and fishing guides, grounds maintenance, golf superintendent and general manager.
- Support the delivery of the lodges game bird, fish stock and habitat management program
- Deliver on client expectations in line with a world class hunting, shooting and fishing facility
- Ensure delivery of safe and interesting hunts of various kinds, applying an innovative spirit of purpose for creating memorable shooting experiences
- Follow all Lodge policies and procedures as directed by the General Manager
- Ensure delivery of safe catch and release fishing expeditions
- General maintenance duties for the Lodge (repairs, painting, upkeep)
- Must possess a valid Firearms Possession & Acquisition license (PAL)
- Must possess a Boating license
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Previous experience fishing salmon
- Previous experience hunting upland style game birds (Pheasant & Partridge) would be an asset
- An understanding of working gundogs would be a distinct advantage
- Certification in the use of chainsaws, heavy machinery or other related habitat management equipment would be advantageous
- Must have outdoor skills and an aptitude for operating farm and outdoor machinery
- Ability to multi-task & work in fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly and confidently
