Terms of Employment: 1 year, full-time, 40 hours per week.
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Role: Forage & the Jervis Joint is part of the Listel Hospitality Group. They are located side by side, sharing the same kitchen, yet offering different experiences and cuisines. We will be closing the doors at the end of 2024. We seek an experienced General Manager who can continue the success of the restaurants for the remainder of the year, and help wind down the restaurants’ operations.
Responsibilities: Manage all aspect of the restaurants: • Work closely with Executive Chef to achieve Forage and Jervis Joint’s guest experience and financial goals. • Hands-on leading by example to ensure seamless, knowledgeable, and anticipative service in Forage and Jervis Joint for all service periods (breakfast, weekend brunch, dinner) • Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff • Fostering an engaged, connected, positive, and inspired team through coaching and development • Organizing social media and marketing initiatives to attract new clientele • Development of new, unique dining experiences that fully leverage the existing brand • Alongside the Executive Chef, network to be the face of a successful brand • Performing and/or delegating daily time and attendance duties including scheduling, time-card approvals, time off requests • Planning, introducing, and measuring periodic staff incentive programs to increase sales and knowledge of product. • Advocating for a safe and healthy work environment by supporting the Health and Safety initiatives • Other duties as assigned
By year end: • Conduct a thorough inventory of all remaining food, beverages, and supplies • Plan, organize and execute division of restaurant equipment, furniture, and assets, sell/donate/ dispose of assets based on condition and value. • Cancelling business licenses, health permits, and any other permits applicable to the restaurant. • Research and handle insurance coverage accordingly • Resolving pending insurance claims • Settle outstanding debts, including loans and leases. • File the necessary paperwork to officially close the business down
Qualifications: • 3 years’ experience in upscale restaurant management role • Strong local food & beverage (including wine) knowledge an asset • Ability to lead a team through coaching and inspiration, leading by example. • Proven ability to delegate efficiently, great at communicating • Ability to be adaptable and flexible, shines when faced with a challenge • Must have excellent customer facing skills • Must have experience in a service focused environment • Knowledge of financial and budget reports • Strong administrative organizational skills • Strong computer skills an asset • Knowledge of point-of-sale, inventory management an asset • Ability to lift/carry up to 45 lbs • Must currently be eligible to work in Canada
