Seeking a highly skilled and experienced bagel baker to join our bagel making team. Must be competent and experienced in a fast paced kitchen work environment. Minimum 1 year baking experience required. Experience in bagel making is preferred. Must be dependable, flexible, have excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills, and be a team player. Ability to deliver friendly customer service is also essential. Job duties include but are not limited to: Assist in preparation of bagels Mix, portion and hand roll dough Boil and bake bagels according to established protocols to ensure product quality Assist in preparation and production of bagel sandwiches and their ingredients Welcome customers, take orders, and process payment at point of sale Package bagels and monitor for quality control of product Process special orders Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of bagels to produce Place orders for purchasing baking supplies Thorough daily cleaning of bagel shop and all kitchen equipment Follow all food safe practices and standards With time hire, train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff Physically demanding job. Involves repetitive tasks, weight handling of up to 20kg, standing for extended periods of time, fast-paced and hot work environment. Attention to detail is essential. Training Requirements: Minimum of secondary school education completed Food safety training certificate Minimum one year professional baking experience On-the-job training will be provided Wage offered: $18-23/hr, depending on experience. Two (2) permanent, full time position available (40hrs/week). Includes extended health and dental benefits package, available after two month probation period.
