Outstanding Edwardian (1900-1910 period) mahogany ‘S Roll’ Roll Top Desk. Imported in a container from England by my antiques dealer in Oak Ridges near Toronto in the early 1970’s. Easily 110+ years old. Excellent condition - all drawers, doors and the roll are intact and work perfectly. Period correct chair is included. Finished on the back in case you want it in the middle of a room. I’ve been reticent to sell it since I’ve never seen one in mahogany in this age and condition and I do enjoy it. Still, it is time to start downsizing some of the larger pieces. Similar desks online sell for $6800 to well over $10,000 so I feel it is fairly priced. Located in Fonthill near St. Catharines in a pet free, smoke free home. Dimensions are 36 1/2” deep 47 1/2” high, and 60” in width. Comes apart in 3 main sections after removing centre drawer, rear panel, and cross supports for easier moving. Will require 2 or 3 able bodied individuals plus a truck to remove it from the house and for transport. A very rare collector piece at a great price. I doubt you’ll ever find such a classic Edwardian desk in mahogany and excellent condition for such a great price.
