Start Periods for Internships
HELP has openings for one to six month terms year round
Date starts are April 1st, May 1st, June 1st,July 1st, August 1st, September 1st or the 1st of any month
but can be negotiated for other start dates according to availability and needs of each volunteer.

Volunteer Green Technologist
Number of positions available:
Six volunteer technologists for two to six month terms in the period: April 1 through October 31
Three volunteer technologist positions available in the period:November 1st through March 31

at HELP International Tree Production, Research and Training Farm
Description of position
Volunteer Technologists will engage in a fast moving multicultural volunteer team environment carrying out:
1) Tree production at the worlds first floating fields tree production nursery with current capacity of 800,000 trees.
This system was discovered and patented by HELPs lead researcher and it being launched internationally.
2) Field forestry: mechanized tree planting, mulching and grassing with community partners and landowners.
3) Irrigation systems installation for HELPs new 24 km lines of treestooling beds
4) Harvest, condition and store genetic material for tree cloning; produce ideal soil; produce homemade non-toxic rooting hormone
5) Transfer the skills you learn to school kids during day long eco-camps
6) Participate in zero waste living and programming
7) Chance to become a management trainee for a portion of the term for those interested
8) Chance to manage an organization debit card, carry out purchasesand related bookkeeping
9) Interns offered opportunity to manage one of fourteen management portfolios at HELP.
HELP provides free:
accommodation,
food
$150/month stipend for incidentals
Field training and supervision
Certification in up to 130 tools, technologies, and processes inwhich a volunteer gains mastery
Use of HELP vehicles for responsible drivers during off hours andfor weekend excursions
VolunteerObligations:
40 hours of volunteer work per week
Daily activity tracking report
Participatory self-assessment reports

Special Note: Please note that HELP International is a federally incorporated non-for-profit corporation founded in 1994 in Saskatchewan,Canada. Though we carry out work overseas in Africa and Asia from time to time, we have never had any association nor affiliation in any way with the HELP International that was founded two years after our founding in Utah in 1996 which sends American volunteers to other countries.
Time Commitment: 40 hours per week; one month minimum commitment
Duration (one-time/ongoing/short term): Can be one-time, ongoing or short term as per availability negotiated with each volunteer.
Most come for single on time term of one,two, three, four, or six months.
Age requirements: 18 to 35 years of age.
