I could download my camera memory cards because I didn’t want to take the risk of losing all my photos due to memory card error, card corruption or for any other reason. I would regularly shoot in both RAW and JPEG so the cards would fill up fairly fast. It was also easier to review my photos and delete some of them afterwards. (One of the photos shows the battery compartment in open position.)
