Many small upgrades & improvements such as replaced fuses with pop-out breakers, replaced bakelite plastic yokes with metal ones, added fuel steps, etc.
Previous owner had the plane for over 20 years, but we flew it more in the first year (120 hours) than it had in the previous 15 years combined. Metal was observed in the oil filter in 2019 so the engine was completely torn down and rebuilt and most of the “engine-hasn’t-been-flown-enough” symptoms were evident and fixed. Crank was removed & checked, sump corrosion was fixed, and four new cylinders installed. Source of metal ended up being piston pin caps. I hesitate to sell the plane because its at a level where I trust every component now, but a tailwheel beckons…
I’ve owned it from October 2017 and have flown it over 220 hours since. Maintained with no expense spared, and no maintenance deferred. If something wasn’t right, it was fixed. Taken care of by Langley Aero since I bought it. Based in Squamish, BC.
