Description

2012 Kia Rio, second owner, has decent engine tick but doesn’t stop it whatsoever Great first car or beater for winter! MVI good until July 2024, has an engine tick, can be expected with a Kia having 300,000+km on it doesn’t stop it by any means. Got it at 220,000km 3 years ago, still driving, it’s just having an acceleration issue in the last year don’t know if it’s trans, sensors, etc. only code that came up relating to accel was O2 Sensor not sure if upstream or down Great on gas A/C, Heated Seats, Cruise, Phone Controls on Steering wheel, (once clockspring is fixed), Bluetooth! Calling/Volume Control on Steering Wheel. Will easily pass again with e-brake tightening or replacement - horn currently doesn’t work lol, it needs a clockspring in steering wheel Underbody is rust free, was told by multiple mechanics they’re surprised this Kia is still rust free underneath let alone running at this mileage, and that it still has lots of potential left. Not saying it doesn’t need some repairs. Would be a good beater or first car. Recently done within the last 1-2 years: Upper and Lower Control arms Just had an alignment Oil change done Front Rotors Spark Plugs Coils Front Pads Inner & Outer Tie Rods Ball joints Stabilizer Bar Link Sway Bars Flex Pipe Starter Alternator Battery Comes with 4 brand new summer tires THE BAD: There’s something going on with the transmission, or fuel injectors and or sensors. When it codes it comes up O2 Sensor, unsure of upstream or downstream. It’s been having laggy acceleration. I changed spark plugs and coils 2 months ago to no avail, oil changes regularly. Was told to try O2 sensor, it does need a trans fluid change, or fuel pump, or maybe even the catalytic converter is clogged and just needs to be cleaned/replaced, something along those lines. Valves/Rings could be replaced as well. Needs back brake pads and rotors, possibly front rotors, as well as a new e-brake cable or tightening Needs Serpentine Belt, squeaks with the more accessory’s you have on especially with A/C Was told back shocks could be replaced but you can’t tell The horn doesn’t work, needs clockspring or something to do in the steering wheel, the yellow tag from the airbag or something kept sticking out and I forced it back in and it messed something up, there’s no power to the buttons on the steering wheel. Trunk Latch doesn’t work on outside, you can open on the inside, it just needs a new button, which is $20 on Amazon just haven’t bothered. Still has lots of potential after sensor replacement or trans fluid, engine still going strong despite decent engine tick! If you have any other questions or want more photos, anything else, etc please feel free to ask! BEST OFFER TAKES IT!
