This 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost is a special-edition vehicle that combines power with a unique aesthetic. Underpinned by the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody, it features an enhanced supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers a formidable 807hp, rivaling the SRT Super Stock. Exclusive to this edition are gator-skin vinyl graphics on the roof, contrasting white stripes on the quarter-panels and retro-styled badges. Its interior is adorned with a special Black Ghost badge on the instrument panel, carbon-fiber bezels and Alcantara on the seats, door bolsters and steering wheel. Limited to only 300 units, the Black Ghost is a rarity available solely in black, making it a coveted collector's item. The 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost pays tribute to a real street-racing legend, the original Black Ghost, a 1970 Dodge Challenger that was a mysterious figure in the Detroit street-racing scene in the 1970s. This enigmatic car would sporadically appear at drag races, dominate the competition and then vanish, adding to its ghostly legend. The original Black Ghost, owned and driven by Godfrey Qualls, a traffic officer with a secret passion for speed, disappeared from the scene in 1975 when Qualls rejoined the military. Despite its absence, the legend of the Black Ghost lived on in the street-racing community. In 2014, long after its last race, the car was rediscovered by Qualls' son and is now part of the National Historic Vehicle Register. The release of the 2023 Challenger Black Ghost revives this legacy, marrying the awe-inspiring power of the original with modern performance enhancements and exclusive features.
