Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!

    Description

I'm looking to re-home my 16yo senior cat. I have some health concerns upcoming and won't be able to take care of him as he needs. Family live out of town so no other option. He is healthy no medical problems. Grey Tabby indoor cat, Don't think he's ever been outside. I adopted him 4 years ago he has never shown any interest in going outside. Likes to sit in windows though. All of his stuff will be given as well. His cat house, would be best if could be put in front of a window, he likes to lay inside and watch the outdoors he also sleeps in there sometimes. Part box of litter, Bag of food, brush. I just use glass bowl for water if you would like that can have it too. He eats kibble, have tried to feed him canned food but he just picks at it and never eats very much of it. Kibble is only thing he eats. I don't have a feeding time I work nights sleep afternoons so hard to keep to certain times. He just uses a gravity feeder. Not looking for any money rather him be put with right home. Will wait for right person not just first person to answer ad. Let me know if you have any questions. Or if you think you'd be a good fit for him. The shelter called him Zoot. But doubt that's his name he was 12 when adopted him so not sure what he was called before. Looking for a local person Hopefully close to Simcoe he doesn't like car rides. or being in crate. Very well tempered has only hissed 1 time & that was when giving him pills when First got him. Would probably do well with other cats his age or temperament. Not sure about dogs hasn't been around them that I know of.
