When Programm first arrived on the scene in January 2015 with their stunning debut single “Like the Sun” and that was shortly proceeded by the EP of the same name, it was easy to label the Toronto quartet as another dreamy electro-pop band. The release of their debut full-length, A Torrid Marriage of Logic and Emotion, however, demonstrates that Programm is more than just a one-trick pony. Two of the cosmic songs on their EP are smartly included and they bookend the album, helping to balance out the newer tracks that are darker and more trance-oriented. The aforementioned “Like the Sun” opens the album with aplomb. While the tune may be closing in on 18 months of age, it sounds as fresh as it then, a song that is rejuvenating and breathtaking. “Zerozerozero” is dense and stunning, offering the feeling that one is suspended in space while the beauty of the planet spins beneath your feet
