Job details Wage: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour Hours: 30 hours per week Employment Type: Permanent employment, Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday - 1:00pm to 7:00pm Start Date: immediate Vacancies: 1 Workplace: Employer’s private residence. Optional live-in accommodation may be provided at no cost. Live-in is NOT a condition of employment. Job Description We are seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced nanny to provide structured after-school care and emotional support for a 6-year-old child. The ideal candidate will help maintain a calm, safe, and supportive environment while assisting the child with emotional regulation and daily routines. Responsibilities: Take care of one 6-year-old child Help the child stay calm and work through big emotions in a caring way Play games, do crafts, and plan fun learning activities Make healthy meals and snacks Help with after school routine and hygiene Support basic homework and school readiness Keep the child’s space safe, clean, and organized Do light cleaning related to the child, like tidying toys and cleaning up meals Follow the parents’ routines and instructions for care and discipline Employment Requirements Skills and abilities: Ability to remain calm in emotionally challenging situations Emotional resilience required when managing child distress Ability to support children with emotional/behavioral needs (asset) Calm, patient, and reliable Good communication skills English speaking required Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: Previous childcare or nanny experience Certifications: Early Childhood Educator certificate First Aid/CPR for childcare is a plus (or willing to get it) Child Intervention Check and Police Vulnerable Sector Check required References required Driver’s licence required Work Conditions: Active childcare environment Requires emotional patience and consistency May involve managing behavioural or emotional challenges Indoor and outdoor supervision required Thank you for your interest in this position.
