Licensed Family Dayhome in Pineridge NE

Hello Parents. I have been successfully running my dayhome under the Calgary and Region Family Dayhome Agency for the past 10 years. I have obtained my level 3 ECE diploma from Bow Valley College in 2015. In addition to this, I have also completed a FLIGHT course from MacEwan University in June of 2021. My teaching philosophy is that each child is "a mighty learner and citizen – strong, resourceful and capable" (Flight, pg. 3). Pedagogical theories that I follow are a practice of relationships, responsive environments, holistic play based goals, children's dispositions to learn and pedagogical documentation. I would describe myself as an educator who is a co-learner, co-researcher, and co-imaginer of possibilities alongside the children, parents, and with my consultant. Also, I am very flexible, strive to learn, and always try my best to make sure that my day home children acquire the optimal learning opportunities through a new lens. Children spend most of their outdoor playtime in the backyard or at a nearby park/playground. Indoor and outdoor activities are planned according to the children's interests and are age appropriate. Children are offered two meals and two snacks. All meals remain in accordance with the Canada Food Guide. Lastly, I have spots available for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
