Deer Ridge, St. Albert Day Home Ages 3 and 4
Bright Beginnings Day Home is located in the neighborhood of Deer Ridge in St. Albert, Alberta. Hours: 7:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. Our home is non-smoking, pet free and I have a limited screen time policy (screen time is only used occasionally with the purpose of adding to theme learning (Ex: YouTube video) as part of the daily lesson). My child care program has a preschool focus for children aged 3 and 4 (consideration for children turning 3 or younger siblings under the age of 3 is available). **Please note I am not currently accepting families belonging to multiple children’s cohorts (ex: preschool, extracurriculars, multiple friend or family cohorts) to minimize our day home cohort’s potential exposure. A family and friend cohort of the size currently outlined by the Alberta government in addition to their day home cohort is what is expected at this time. Care Details: Offering a caring, fun, safe and educational environment with a focus on children's individual interests and learning through play! Every day is full of fun and I take an individual approach to each child's needs and interests. It is very important to me that each child feels special, cared for and excited about their time with us. I have a government and agency monitored day home and therefore have met and continue to meet all government standards for child care. My day home adheres to and is accountable to uphold all government mandated COVID-19 policies and procedures for government regulated childcare facilities. This includes but is not limited to parents completing daily child screening protocols, a zero-illness policy, immediate parent pickup in the event of symptoms and extensive cleaning, sanitation and handwashing is in place. Only authorized play materials are in use and children are provided with individual supply bins for play materials that could risk cross contamination if shared. I have an ongoing education in early childhood development including being a level one certified Early Childhood Educator that I utilize to offer learning opportunities to prepare little ones for their futures in a small group setting where they receive personalized care in the comfort of our home. Every morning begins with a lesson session that includes songs, calendar time, our weekly focus (letter, number, color, shape, etc.) and story time followed by morning snack and outdoor time. The afternoon schedule consists of lunch followed by the afternoon lesson session (focused on the current theme), afternoon snack and concludes with afternoon outdoor time. Program planning is a collaboration of kindergarten readiness and learn through play with the children’s interests as the focus of activity planning. We celebrate special days such as holidays and birthdays, learn about our community and have an outdoor play focus. Home & Location: Our space offers a lot of natural light in all spaces children play and eat, a secure outdoor play space and is located in a mature family friendly neighborhood with walking trails and parks. We are also easily accessed by main roadways simplifying your mornings, including Ray Gibbon Drive to Anthony Henday Drive, St. Albert Trail, Villeneuve Road and accommodating longer commutes to Morinville or Edmonton. A little bit about me: I have volunteered with various children’s programs for several years and have provided childcare intermittently since my teen years. After purchasing a home and becoming a parent I had the opportunity to open a day home and do what I love full time; work with children. I thoroughly enjoy finding out who they are, what they love and helping them discover and grow! Bright Beginnings is a government regulated day home and has met all agency guidelines including but not limited to: - Standard Childcare First Aid (Level B CPR) including CPR and AED training. - Confirmation of clear RCMP Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Record Checks for all members over the age of 13 residing in the home. - Confirmation of clear Alberta Government Child Intervention Checks for all members over the age of 13 residing in the home. - Thorough home safety set up, policies and procedures are in place including monthly fire drills. - Home and child hygiene policies and procedures are in place to provide a healthy atmosphere and avoid illness. - Ongoing training in early childhood development. - Provide a high standard of care for your children with outlines set by the Alberta Government to ensure all areas of development and care are being met including emotional, mental and physical development. - Nutritious meals and snacks planned based on the Canada Food Guide. - Offering a learn through play curriculum that is planned based off of the interests of the children in care. - Back up care options are available. - Can accept government subsidy. Please contact me by phone at 780-289-6850 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information. Thank you! **Please note that the current interview process involves a 3-4 step process including: Space availability confirmation (including the child’s age, hours and days required), Phone interview to cover the majority of details and determine if we will be proceeding to an in home interview, in-home interviews consist of COVID-19 screening protocols for everyone entering the home prior to entry, adults and children the age of 2 and older are to wear masks during the entire in home interview and to wash their hands at the time of arrival. At times a video call interview is scheduled prior to the in-home interview. Once the interview process is complete the agency is generally able to digitally complete the contract process with clients within two business days of receiving placement confirmation. If a child or children are placed with my day home, they would then be considered placed within my day home cohort and mask usage while in my home would no longer apply. Parents or an alternate authorized pickup person are asked to socially distance at drop off and pick up times and sanitize their hands upon entry. One family at a time is permitted for drop off or pickup in order to adhere to social distancing.
