DURATION: 100 hours
RECOMMENDED FOR: The program is intended for emergency response personnel such as paramedics, firefighters, law-enforcement officers, emergency medical service personnel, and industrial workplace responders (especially those working in the oil and gas industry), as well as those looking to enter these fields. The course consists of 30 hours of guided online study and 70 hours of in-class practice.
CONTENT: Anatomy and physiology, pharmaceuticals, personal protective equipment, spinal management, health care provider CPR, medical emergencies, agricultural and industrial emergencies, introduction to trauma, musculoskeletal injuries and water emergencies.
PREREQUISITES: Must be physically able to perform the required CPR and first aid skills.
