Description

OH NO! UGH!!! I finally must let my cherished life companion go to a new home. Why? Because I’ve separated and moved on to Mexico. Broke in 1975, I bought my 1952 Fargo pickup for $100 via a loan from my brother-in-law. Wow, that was 50 years ago! To extend my Fargo’s life further, I always fixed or replaced any of her aging parts. For example, I changed her flat-head 6 engine twice and her change was a Chrysler 318 V8 racing motor. I changed or installed her original 6-volt electrical system with a 12V one; her slow manual trannie with a Thunderbird automatic trannie; her clunky rear end with a Ford truck 350; her worn front end suspension with a 1980 Camaro clip; plus, lots & lots of somewhat newer parts to replace her older worn out parts. Except for her classic solid heavy steel body, my dear Fargo can't be called an originally restored pickup. We had lived together at our home on the coast for 30 years, so, her fantastic body does need a complete beauty treatment. Over the 50 years together, I just dabbed antirust paint on her body whenever she had a breakout. My own 80-year-old body is way past being beautified and unfortunately, there’s no anti-rust treatment for me. For me? It’s just year-to-year living. But my faithful Fargo? Due to all my love and care that I put into her running gear, my beautiful Fargo will probably go far – probably a lot further and a lot faster than any original 52 or even further than a new pickup. My Fargo has only 250km on her 4 new all-terrain truck tires, 2 good-thread all-terrain Michelin spares (1 Chevy rim & 1 Ford rim), a 4-barrel carb, power steering and power brakes, a new battery a newish stereo system plus lots of my 50 years of TLC that I religiously built into her. Please do come to say hola Betsy! and then do thoroughly check her out. The CDN$9990 listing price is firm.
