Description

1978 Pontiac Parisienne – Built 355 SBC / Solid Survivor SOME OF THE DETAILS ABOUT THE BUILD - Forged full floating rods and pistons -Match ported Dart Iron Eagle heads. Some unshrowding done. - Compcams 462 intake lift, 480 exaust lift. (Engine could EASILY handle a more agressive cam, this cam just keeps it more street friendly) -750cfm 4 barrel - 4 bolt main 010 block. - Complete engine balancing to 0.4 grams on the rotating assembly (pro machining done) - Crank 0.10x0.10 - Long tube headers 1-5/8 3" collector with true dual exhaust -paired to TH350 (60,000km on it) (Suspension was upgraded with slightly stiffer shocks + helper springs to reduce body roll but keep a comfortable ride feel) -American racing 5 spoke aluminum wheels There is more done than I have listed here, all new parts from summit racing. & this is the first rebuild on this engine. Testing the waters — not in a rush to sell. 1978 Pontiac Parisienne powered by a built small-block Chevy (350 bored to 355). Estimated ~400 hp but haven’t had it on a dyno as of yet. For a 4,000 lb late-’70s car, it moves very well and is an absolute blast to drive. This car is just shy of 50 years old, so it’s not without minor cosmetic blemishes, but the drivetrain and overall condition are what give it its charm. Highlights: • Built 355 SBC (fresh build when I purchased it) • ~20,000 km on the engine • Oil changed religiously every ~5,000 km using premium synthetic oil + zinc additive (flat tappet cam) • Original drivetrain car, properly maintained • Zero rot — solid everywhere • Factory paint still on the frame • Factory sticker still present on one rear coil spring • Original paint on the body (sun fade on roof and trunk, expected for age) • Interior is nearly perfect and extremely comfortable History: • Bought new in 1978 by the original owner • Owned by him until his passing in the 1990s • Stored in a garage by his children until 2020 • Purchased by the previous owner, then by me in 2023 • Only ~60,000 km on the chassis — never rolled over (I have an extra set of corvette rally wheels to go with, I also have a posi & 3:42 gears waiting to be installed) This is an honest, solid, well-sorted classic that you can actually drive and enjoy. Anyone who knows what they’re looking at will appreciate how hard it is to find a car this old in this condition. I’m not desperate to sell — happy to keep it if the right interest doesn’t come along. Serious inquiries only.
