POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Advisor will lead solution development and portfolio management initiatives in support to the team Director and other Advisory Services (“AS”) Directors. He/she/they will be supporting solution leads in the specific context of advisory services content development, and new avenues for content repurposing to generate greater reach opportunities to SMEs.

He/she/they will actively collaborate with multiple internal cross-functional partners (BD, Delivery, Marketing, Training, etc.) and solicit participation and support to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects for internal initiatives and solution enhancement. The Senior Advisor may also be called upon to draw on external resources to generate content.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Collaborate and lead portfolio and solution performance reviews and build pillar development roadmaps in collaboration with Delivery key stakeholders to promote BDC’s Advisory Services.

  • Act as a subject matter expert and/or support “content leads”, including external resources, by developing and sharing best practices and provide training on the process for solution content development / enhancement / continuous improvement.

  • Ensure all Advisory Services’ offerings are properly designed, including concept's validation with business development and delivery teams, and clients. Ensure that they are also adequately approved and documented (preliminary and final business cases). The Senior Advisor will review regularly, as the owner of the solution development, the process for Advisory Services.

  • Create, update and populate appropriate structures on collaborative monitoring tools to support the content development process and portfolio management.

  • Implement common tools, templates, etc., that could be leveraged across Advisory Services. 

  • Plan, manage and follow-up on deployment-related activities.

  • Share best practices with project teams to ensure successful completion, coordinate and integrate activities with supporting functions, lead post-mortem activities, and ensure hand-off.

  • Build ongoing and sustainable relationships and collaborate with peers across Advisory Services’ team (Delivery, Operations, Business development) including other BDC support services (Marketing).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or equivalent

  • 7 years of relevant experience addressing SME/corporate challenges under strategic, product and content development-type work

  • Strong business acumen coupled with internal and external client relationship experience

  • Experience in a medium to large consulting firm (an asset)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work autonomously, pay close attention to detail and produce high quality work

  • Good time management and priority setting skills in order to meet critical deadlines

  • Ability to create tools, prepare documentation, presentations, work plans, etc.

  • Bilingual in French and in English
