We are seeking a skilled and certified Residential Journeyman Plumber to join our growing company in Edmonton, Alberta. This role is focused exclusively on residential plumbing services including installations, repairs, and maintenance in houses, condominiums, and small apartment buildings. You will be equipped with a fully outfitted company service vehicle, paired with a dedicated apprentice. Key Responsibilities Installation & Construction Install, repair, and maintain residential plumbing systems including water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas lines. Install fixtures and appliances: sinks, toilets, tubs, water heaters, sump pumps, etc. Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing layouts. Cut openings and fit pipes, valves, and fittings (metal and non-metal). Ensure all work meets or exceeds municipal and provincial codes and standards. Maintenance & Repairs Troubleshoot and resolve leaks, blockages, water pressure issues, and system failures. Conduct routine inspections to verify system performance and code compliance. Perform preventative maintenance and emergency plumbing repairs as required. Code Compliance & Safety Comply with the Alberta Building Code, Safety Codes Act, and relevant municipal bylaws. Complete job site hazard assessments and follow safety procedures. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safety protocols. Mentorship & Supervision Oversee and mentor an assigned plumbing apprentice, providing daily on-the-job training and guidance. Promote safe and efficient work practices through example and instruction. Reporting & Communication Complete detailed job documentation, including work orders, material lists, and inspection reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, coordinators, and clients when necessary. Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and job site at all times. Qualifications Red Seal Journeyman Plumber Qualification recognized in Alberta 4–5 years of residential plumbing experience, including apprenticeship. Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record. Proven ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents. Strong working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and safety standards. Proficiency with plumbing tools, equipment, and materials. Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand or kneel for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
