Position – Locator and Construction Surveyor
Job type - Full-time (1 Position)
Schedule – 5 days a week/10hour shift (Overtime after 8 Hours)
Wage – Commensurate with experience
Location – Must reside within 1 hour of Coaldale, Alberta

Dennis’ Dirtworx Ltd. is seeking an individual to join our team of dedicated professionals as a Utility Locator and Construction Surveyor. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our construction projects, thereby contributing to their overall success. This presents an exciting opportunity to engage with diverse and challenging projects within a collaborative and innovative environment. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive in-house training.
The Work:
• Ensure accurate field representation of all buried pipelines and cable utilities on Dennis’ Dirtworx projects.
• Coordinate with project management and utility owners to ensure the timely and accurate identification of all utilities on project located throughout Southern Alberta
• Use Topcon RTK GPS to accurately map all buried utilities
• Adapt survey and locate methods to address unexpected site conditions and challenges
• Maintain and calibrate locator and survey equipment to improve equipment longevity
• Continuously update and maintain knowledge of techniques, technologies and industry best practices
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols to protect yourself and others
Qualifications:
• Post-Secondary education in a survey program from an accredited technical school would be an asset. High school diploma/GED is required
• Previous experience locating buried utilities an asset
• Familiarity with the Alberta One Call system an asset
• Experience with Topcon survey equipment will be considered an asset
• Valid class 5 drivers license is required
• Clean driver abstract (candidate to provide a current abstract)
• Safety tickets/certificates an asset but in house training will be offered
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment, fostering positive working relationships with internal and external clients to promote morale, cooperations, and team cohesion
• A strong desire for continuous learning and professional development
