Fisher Transport Limited (“Fisher”), a fast growing, family-owned business that has specialized in the movement of bulk liquids since 1962, has immediate openings for multiple professional Bulk Milk Graders/Drivers that will involve predominantly local, Nova Scotia based work on both a full and part time capacity. We have recently been awarded a significant increase in our core business, the grading, pickup and transportation of bulk milk from Nova Scotia farms and delivery to milk processing plants within and outside of Nova Scotia. This is a very specialized position that will reward individuals with an aptitude for sanitary awareness/quality assurance and possess a demonstrated Class 1 professional, safe driving record who place a high level of importance on both skill sets will be successful. It is not necessary that candidates have experience in the dairy industry or in grading milk, although it would be considered an asset. Fisher will be responsible for training and certifying the successful candidates as licensed Bulk Milk Graders should the candidate not possess a valid Nova Scotia Bulk Milk Graders license. Job Responsibilities: • Bulk Milk Graders are responsible for the grading of raw milk at the farm based on performing a series of quality assurance tests and sampling at each farm on designated, daily routes throughout central, northern and eastern Nova Scotia to ensure the milk delivered to each dairy processor is of acceptable quality. • As this line of work involves a food product, a keen sanitary awareness and a presentable appearance with good hygiene is not only recommended, it is essential, and also serves to enhance the Bulk Milk Grader’s professionalism. • Transport of raw milk from the various farms to Nova Scotia dairy processing plants in Truro and Halifax/Dartmouth, primarily. • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items, safety issues and perform minor preventative maintenance • Meet daily pickup and delivery schedules • Document and log work/rest periods spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts • Input milk related data into our automated system for each stage of the milk loading and unloading process • Comply with all Federal and Provincial vehicle compliance regulations as well as company specific safe work procedures and company policies. .Operating Quad axle and Tridem axle milk tankers in and out of very tight loading and offloading facilities • Report defects, accidents or violations

We Require: - Valid Class 1 License - Current employment resume - Minimum 2 years driving experience - Safe driving record with no major incidents (Current Drivers Abstract). - Clean criminal back ground check and pass a pre-employment drug test - Bulk Milk Grader Certificate not necessary but would be considered an asset - Tanker experience is an asset. - List of 3 employment references - Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, inclement weather conditions, adjusting milk volumes etc.)
About Fisher Transport Limited Fisher is a family-owned, exclusive stainless steel bulk liquid transport company hauling both sanitary and non-sanitary liquids, with emphasis on sanitary products, primarily milk, about to enter our 60th year of operation. We are the exclusive raw milk transporter for the Dairy Farmers of Newfoundland & Labrador, responsible for pickup of raw milk from all dairy farms throughout Newfoundland & Labrador and the transport of raw milk to processors within and outside of the Province. We have been a transporter of raw milk within Nova Scotia for over 50 years and effective July 1, will be responsible for a significant portion of the Provinces raw milk pickup and transportation on behalf of the Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia. In addition, we have an established business of sanitary and non-sanitary liquid transportation on behalf of some of Nova Scotia’s largest food, beverage, chemical and environmental companies. We operate a fleet of over 100 late model tractor and trailer units and are looking for career minded, team players willing to join an established transporter on a trajectory of consistent growth.
