- “aging” wood 6-24 months before staining is outdated information. Leaving wood unprotected leads to permanently damaged/cracked/warped boards.
Prep Process:
Wood is Prepped with an Oxylic acid cleaner (not harmful to Grass or plants) this opens the pores of the wood allowing the stain to penetrate into the wood instead of surface drying (which leads to peeling/flaking off) Also removes mould/Mildew & brown/Grey haze from sun damage caused by unprotected wood. Pressure washers create loose wood fibres which leads to stain failure. All work is done by hand, not sprayed (spraying without back brushing leads to stain peeling as well)
