Our big block head male Ruger is AKC registered 100% clear genetics and is in house from a 150 yr old 5th generation line from North Carolina close to the Chesapeake Bay and is the only dog from his home kennel in Canada. Our lines genetics started from our matriarch BB(ret) Mossbank/Northshore Kennels mixed with dogs from Sudbury Saskatchewan and North Carolina. We breed puppies for hunters, farmers, watersports lovers, sport dog enthusiests and extremly active families. We have created our own propietory line of working dogs designed by us focused on personality traits and not for looks, colour or ribbons therefore we DO NOT inbreed! Our breeding dogs are extremly loyal family companions, have higher than average prey drives and athletic skills and are naturally protective only when when necessary and never without cause making them great family dogs. We even have 3 PTSD service dogs come from our kennel donated free of charge to Fire Team K9s a training organization for Wounded Warriors Canada. Our dog Tikka handled by our daughter is an excellent dock diver and part of a team of dogs that compete all over north America. Our dogs are hunting in Alberta, Quebec, Northern Manitoba, Labrador, Newfoundland, Timmons, Thunderbay, Sudbury, North Bay and all over Southern Ontario. One of our dogs Oak lives in the Wegamow Lake Cree Tribe with Bentley Kakekayash cast member of Life Below Zero Canada! Some are running trap lines and retrieving beaver, some are used as bear, coyote and deer dogs. Many are flushing and pointing small and upland game and of course dominating the waterfowl game. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are the most versitile cold weather hunting dogs available period! Puppies are kept with thier parents and pack until 10 weeks and undergo our proven training program to prepare them for a successful life. Do not be fooled by by watered down imitations by other breeders we are the origional Ontario kennel selling started puppies at 10 weeks and have perfected the process over years of trials. At 5 weeks old our puppies are enriched 3 times daily outdoors in our trianing facility. Desensitization exposure to firearms, machinery, cats, children, water, ice and larger and older dogs including our pack Alpha Male and Female. This ensures the puppies are healthy, confident, intelligent, safe and respectful as adult dogs. Mental health confidence and intelligence in our puppies is our top priority. Puppies are used to nail trimmings and are litter box trained in the whelping room to ensure and easy transition to crate and house breaking. Puppies are sold started hunters not gun shy with .22cal .410cal 9mm gun shots translating into a stable hunting dog and house pet during thunderstorms and firecracker events. We use raccoon squirrel dove duck goose pheasant turkey grouse and rabbit pelts teaching puppies retrieving on land, water and ice, hot trail, looking up and ice breaking skills. This proven training accelerates thier natural hunting instincts and prey drive. This litter will be ready for this years waterfowl and smal game hunt and should be retrieving within a year.
