I have a 6 year chihuahua jack russle mix. He is under 10 lbs. Joey is a fixed male and was a rescue. Joey was roughly 3 years old when I got him in 2019. He is from Texas and only came with a envelope of vet records. He is fully vetted!

Joey needs slow introductions to other animals and does best with small female dogs. Smaller children under 6 or loud noises make him nervous and can be can react if they’re is fighting or running/screaming. I have spent a lot of time with him to get him to where he is but he still does have boundaries! He is a very loyal and loving dog to his people!! Joey is house trained and listens to all basic commands. Absolutly loves middle aged to older children and does great with my other small female dogs and cat.

He has spent time around smaller farm animals such as chickens and ducks and playfully chases or just ignores them. His recall is great in the yard or a controlled area but I wouldn’t trust him off leash if he seen something too chase and got caught in the moment. ( he doesn’t like rabbits ) He is a great walker on leash and loves the car! Our house doesn’t get much company so he will bark and growl at new people initially but is quick to say hi and calm down.

He’s a great lap dog and low energy he will play with his toys occasionally but mainly likes to lay on the back of the couch or your lap and his bed/kennel. He is kennel trained!

He is a very sweet dog. I have recently moved and sense moving he just hasn’t settled into the new house and lack of yard and I am noticing a difference in behaviour as he’s choosing to spend most of his time in the kennel.

I am asking less then adoption fee.

Joey should be homed to a couple with no small rambunctious children. He is very quiet he will bark at a door bell and stop when told.

He is a very smart and loving dog he just does better having “his” own person in a calm environment . He is currently in a home with 3 children and does well but it took a lot of time for him to do so and I wouldn’t trust him too just settle into that with another family without a lot of time to learn the house and noises.
