Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. We have 4 fantastic adults searching for their forever pet homes. All are house-trained, and socialized with cats, children, and other small dogs; are used to a lot of love and attention (and sleep in our bed); and are comfortable with regular nail trims and baths.

Photos 1-2: Winnie is lovable and sweet! She loves everyone, is very content, quiet, and laid-back. She is a very lovely, gentle dog. Winnie is 3.5 years, approx. 6.5lbs, already spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and with a valid health-certificate. She has completed Embark DNA testing and is free from those tested genetic health issues. $1600. PENDING.

Bella just recently turned 4 and is roughly 5.5lbs. She does have a more alert personality, a diva complex if you will, and can be quite vocal when alerting you to strangers. She does quiet pretty easily if reassured and has become a lot more comfortable with having visitors and visiting others! She is very loveable with her people and will awoo and grumble to be held and picked up. She would be happiest in home where she can be the centre of attention and really shine. Embark DNA cleared and patella and heart OFAs done. $850.

Photos 7-8: Thalia Photos 9-10: Callisto Thalia and Callisto are littermate sisters and would do well in a home together. They love lounging beside each another. They are sweet, low-energy (they’d be content to sleep all day and do not require anything extra), and exceptionally quiet. They warm up quite easily to new people and love belly rubs. They’re great with other animals and especially adore cats. They have both completed Embark DNA testing and are free from those tested genetic health issues. They have both fully-completed breed-club-recommended OFA tests (patellas, heart, and CAER eyes) and have passed without any issues. They’re both 3 years old, about 4.8 & 5lbs respectively, and well-suited to a home with laid-back homebodies or quiet introverts. Up-to-date on vaccines, with a current valid health-certificate. $3500 together.

We also have two 4-month old shorthaired males looking for their forever home. Their parents have been Embark DNA & health tested, and their mom has completed heart & patella OFA tests. They are discounted from our regular puppy prices, to 1500$ each as they have small flaws that will not affect their overall health at all.
