Description

As a breeder, every so often, I get a question about whether or not placing retired breeding animals is ethical. To people who aren’t breeders, it may look bad or feel icky... like breeders are just tossing away dogs once they’ve been used to produce puppies. But here is a different perspective... If we as breeders did not select some of our adults to retire we would end up with way too many to properly look after their needs and none would receive the care or attention they deserve. I believe this isn't fair to anyone. I do occasionally receive messages and see posts from the owners of my retired breeding dogs. While their lives are comfortable with me, they now get to live an incredibly loved and spoiled life, some times as an only dog with a family that adores them. Different isn’t good or bad, it’s just different. They live a different life with their families than they would have with me. They are content, satisfied, and loved with me; they continue to be all of those things, but with their very own people and without having to share those people with a big pack of other dogs. Quality breeders don’t rehome retired breeding dogs because it’s easy. We do it in spite of how hard it is on us because it’s what’s best for them. Rehoming is not tossing them aside, it’s placing them in the best possible situation so they can live their best life. ❤️ Each one of my adults I've placed - is now in their PERFECT forever home! I put ALOT of work into matching dogs with families. With all of that said, if you are still reading the ad then you will know I currently have 2 /3 adult dogs that are seeking retirement homes. All of our retirees go home with their vaccinations up to date, a 30 to 60 day adjustment guarantee (length is based on each individual persoanlity) and are altered or on a spay/neuter agreement. We do microchip and CKC register all of our dogs and this will be transferred after they are altered or exceed the adjustment guarantee. I have posted pics of my adults who need to be placed. Here are their descriptions. 1. Lazzlow is a 2 year old male, chocolate based cream sable. He is a very sweet boy and will do best in a home where the family is active and enjoys outdoors. He is not yet neutered. 2. Sheldon is a 1 year old male, chocolate based cream. So sweet but quite submissive and will need a confident family and potential 2nd dog that is also confident. He is not yet neutered. All of our dogs are placed based on a completed application and best selected home based on their personalities. There is a rehoming fee applied to each dog individually, please message for more info or an application.
