At nearly 7 years old, he still has the same playful spirit he had as a puppy. He adores games like fetch, tug of war, and hide and seek, and you'll often find him checking in with you to see if you're ready for another round. He enjoys swimming and being around his favorite humans. RJ is a clever boy who is eager to please and loves to receive affection. He knows commands like sit, stay, leave it (for food, toys, or anything he shouldn't have), come, do your business (for potty time), lay down (to go to his spot), heel (to walk beside you), and some fun tricks like spin, around you, and through your legs. When playtime is over, just say “all done,” and he’ll know it’s time to settle down. He won’t touch human food unless it’s given to him, even if it’s within reach. He is crate trained but can be trusted to roam freely in your home while you're at work, managing well for 8-9 hours without needing a bathroom break. He’s trained to go in a designated area in his current yard. Walks are essential for RJ! He needs a confident handler and enjoys the company of a few dog friends, but proper introductions with other dogs are a must. He can be reactive to dogs with high energy or ones who are excessive barkers. The ideal home for RJ is an active one that can help him burn off his energy.
