Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!

I raise healthy lines and keep in contact with those I’ve sold pups to in the past to ensure my lines remain healthy and with great temperament. I am available for training tips and advice on the breed as well.

Siberians huskies are a very high energy breed of dog that requires a lot of physical exercise making them best suited for very active families and pack members. They were originally bred to run long distances and are classified as “working dogs”, always in need of a job to do. They strongly maintain their inner nature of running and exploring. It is up to the owner to ensure this need of the Siberian is met and done in a safe manner.

Due to their super friendly nature Siberians do not play the “guard dog role” very well. They are one of the most vocal types of dogs and are well known for their howling and “back talk”. Being the independent thinkers that they are mental stimulation is just as important to keep both human and canine happy. A secure fencing system is strongly recommended for these well know escape artist. It is not recommended for this breed to be left alone to roam free on a farm or acreage as there are too many potential risks and hazards that can arise. A missing husky = sad owners.

Puppies will NOT be sold for the purpose of breeding!

Being a double coated breed huskies “blow their coats” twice a year. Regular brushing helps keep shedding to a minimal and can be nice bonding & positive experience between dog and owner.

Unless raised with from a puppy and trained, huskies can pose a threat to livestock and small animals. Because of their high prey drive they run a high risk of posing a threat to cats and small furry creatures.

If you are ready for the commitment and dedication of raising a Siberian Husky please contact. If you can dedicate your time into training and properly caring for them. I promise you will have a loyal friend forever. I encourage people to train their dogs in harness pulling (with proper equipment) and allow the dog to do what he/she was bred for! Loads of fun, mistakes and memories are sure to be made!
