Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!

Kijiji Pet Welfare Partners:

Description

The world is quickly changing around us. Thieves are becoming more prolific, more bold and more of an issue in many communities, often making people feel unsafe. Many people look for dogs for companionship and a feeling of safety, but many people may not consider getting a Miniature Shar Pei as a family pet. I tell you what, the Mini Shar Pei are an amazing breed and just may be the best breed you didn't know you were missing!

Please let me tell you about the amazing breed of Miniature Shar Pei:

- They are about 17" at the shoulder and 25 - 40 lbs full grown (about 3" taller and 10 - 15 lbs heavier than a French Bulldog) - Highly intelligent, highly trainable, willing to please their owner - Wrinkly, old-soul appearance and quiet dogs who only bark for a reason - Calm, loyal and relaxed nature, yet ready to go anywhere and do anything with their family - Their smaller size make them excellent for people living in small spaces and those more comfortable managing smaller pets - They are moderately active dogs who appreciate mental and physical stimulation daily - They are extremely loyal and strong-willed and do well when trained by a confident leader - Suspicious of people outside of their family unit making you feel safe when home alone - Naturally territorial and protective of family members (especially at the home) which can be addressed through firm guidance and consistent training

- Just like all other dogs, they will grow and develop based on the environment in which they are raised: = SOCIALIZE with people, places and new things all the time = Shar Pei are naturally easy going and tolerant of children who respect their limits and boundaries = Shar Pei thrive being the only family pet, but can cohabitate very well with other dogs well when raised together and properly trained with supervision = Shar Pei have naturally dominant personalities, so will perform well with consistency, patience, and firm guidance from their owner and family members

I adore this breed! I used to have Neapolitan mastiffs and the mini Shar Pei are the PERFECT mini substitution for this similar giant breed! * Mini Shar Pei have smaller poops (easier clean up), smaller vet bills (usually based on weight), smaller overall costs of care and feeding, and live nearly twice as long as giant dog breeds like the Neo! This is a WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN situation!

TULIP is a gorgeous apricot, spayed, female mini Pei. She is such a beautiful soul and would love to have a home! She will need to pick you as an owner as much as you will pick her, so if you are interested in possibly taking her home, please fill out the puppy application form and if you are a good match, you can come visit her in person! Her adoption fee is only $500 https://forms.gle/6zKB86oNrJpQDCc29
