Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Our last litter of Miniature Australian Shepherds, this batch of four is ASDR registered, health tested, and hips and elbows cleared. We are so excited to watch them growing! Parents are fed a very high quality diet of Acana and Canadian Naturals on our Vet's recommendation and are never tied or kenneled (except when puppies are very tiny with mom.) They are indoors and out. High quality pups for high quality families!

We farm and have four small children. Puppies and children are an integral part of everyday chores and tag along everywhere getting used to cows, horses, goats, cats, heavy equipment, etc. We love animals of all kinds and our goal is to give our kids and animals our time and attention every day and teach them to appreciate and care for what God's given us.

Both parents are extreme cuddlers. Sire Sky has a show-type coat and also loves to work cattle. Dam Opal has a working-type coat and could work livestock but prefers to sleep under the table. She is a bit more shy than Sky. Neither one has a mean bone in their body and are 100% patient with toddlers, cats, etc.

Strong BET lines behind these pups. They are being handled lots. They are ready to go August 30, which is when they turn 8 weeks and get their Vet checks and shots/deworming. We expect them to mature to 15-17" and 20-35 pounds.

NOTE: Our time is precious and we have been taken advantage of one time too many traveling for someone who commits but does not show up, so I now require a $200 deposit in order to hold a puppy and mark it sold. Delivery within reason is an option (Vanderhoof to Burns Lake free of charge, and $100/km one way after that, as it fits within our schedule) but only with a deposit. Of course you may come to the farm and pay cash on the spot and take your puppy home.

Pup 2: Nils (Pictures 3-4:) Super cute blue merle male. A more lively personality on this boy. Very unique markings, and two baby blue eyes, he is adorable. $800

Price is dropped in order to help these boys move to their forever homes during an optimal age window for adjusting, bonding, training, etc. They are 10 weeks old.
