Things you should know about buying or adopting a pet

While pet sellers can be reputable individuals or breeders who treat their animals well, the ease of selling pets over the Internet also makes it attractive to careless, irresponsible breeders and scammers. To protect yourself, you must be careful and believe only what you see and not what you are told. It is highly recommended to arrange for an inspection of the home where the pets are bred. This allows you to check that the mother and other animals are living in suitable conditions, being well cared for, and are in good health.

Remember that the Kijiji Pets section is NOT intended to facilitate uncontrolled breeding, irresponsible commercial pet trading, trade of dogs or any other animal for the purpose of fighting or stud services. Any ads that are suspected of promoting this kind of activity or reported to us will be removed. Users are responsible for adhering to the applicable conditions in relation to adopting, buying, selling or listing of an ad on Kijiji.

Kijiji encourages, where possible, the adoption of pets and encourages all pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered as well as microchipped.

When looking for a pet, it is important to meet the breeder or seller and examine the pet before agreeing to anything. Since Kijiji is local to your community, this should be easy to arrange. Never adopt/buy a pet from someone who is unwilling to let you see how and where the animal is living!

Kijiji Pet Welfare Partners:

Description

We are excited to announce the arrival of our gorgeous litter of eleven Bernese Mountain Dog puppies!!

We currently have only five spots open on this litter! If you are interested in being considered for a Misty Pine Bernese puppy, please check out our website to fill out an application. For frequent updates and pics/videos and to find out more about how we raise our puppies, check out our Instagram page! @mistypinebernese

Both parents are purebred (unregistered) Bernese Mountain Dogs. They have both been genetically health tested through Paw Print Genetics for Degenerative Myelopathy and Von Willebrand’s. Sire (Kipling) has his OFA hips & elbows completed with GOOD results, and dam (Kira) also has her OFA hips with GOOD results as well.

Our Bernese Mountain Dogs (adults and puppies) are all holistically raised on a raw fresh food diet with high quality ingredients and natural supplements. We strive to raise our Bernese in a natural, fulfilling environment where they feel happy and secure and can be the calm and loyal family companions we all love!

Our puppies are raised the BAB way, with tons of socialization and exposure to household sounds/sights! We implement ENS (early neurological stimulation) and gentle handling exercises for the first 2 weeks, and then from 3 weeks on we begin introducing them to new items/activities every day. They are handled daily by children and adults alike and are introduced to bathing/brushing and having their nails clipped.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are wonderful family companions with very loyal and affectionate natures. They are well suited to families with children as they are usually very gentle, however they tend to be unaware of their large size so training and supervision with small children are a must. Berners are goofy and can be very playful and boisterous, especially as young dogs. We love our Bernese and have found them to be the perfect mix of calm and playfulness, always ready for a fun outing, but happy to just take it easy and have a nap as well - and who wouldn't want to cuddle with one of these giant teddy bears?! We expect our puppies to mature around 90-100 lbs.

*All of our puppies are sold on a non-breeding contract.*
