Semple Gooder Roofing Corporation, a large roofing contractor, is hiring a Welder/Fabricator to start immediately Position Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience, MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), Flux Core (FCAW) • High School diploma or equivalent • Ability to perform heavy lifting occasionally and moderate lifting frequently Ability to follow instruction and work independently and collaboratively within a team • Strong awareness of surroundings and commitment to workplace safety Responsibilities • Read, interpret and follow blueprints or welding process specifications for structural or repair work • Align, set in place and weld bases for motors, pumps and other equipment • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW) • Examine welds to ensure that they meet specifications • Maintain and repair worn metal parts by adding layers through appropriate welding processes • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area • Comply with health and safety requirements when using and storing any hazardous materials or cutting equipment to avoid any workplace hazards. • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers. • Operate previously set up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal parts or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal articles with solder • Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment • Adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications Compensation / Hours: • Hourly Wage: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience. • Minimum of 40 hours per week • Most weeks consist of 44-50 hours • Overtime paid after 44 hours in a work week How to Apply: If you meet the above qualifications, please email your resume to the address listed in this posting.
