No Longer Available - Price Drop! 1970 Vintage Ludwig ... $1,400

Price dropped to sell before May 4th, after that I’ll be out of town for a while and when I’m back will have time to individually list them online and ship them etc. so if you’re interested in the whole set get in touch before May 4th! 1970 and 71 Ludwig Drums with pointy blue and olive badges and 3 ply shells with reinforcing rings. Shell pack in rare and harder to find sizes, kind of a mini John Bonham setup! These early 70's 3 ply Ludwigs are some of the best sounding drums ever made and these ones are no exception. They are ready to gig and/or record as is or a great candidate for a restoration/rewrap/refinish etc… I will give more details of each drum below but as far as playing these drums go they are complete and they don’t need any work. A lot of the value in the set is in the rare factory 13”x11” tom (normally they only made 13”x9”, I've only ever seen two other ones) and the desirable 18”x16” floor tom. I strongly prefer to sell the drums all together at once but if enough people are interested in individual drums I will consider splitting them up. As for what’s going on with the finish of these drums, they have all been rewrapped in a wood grain finish wrap, similar to what you might have found on the walls of a 70’s basement. The 16” has a lighter shade of woodgrain than the other 3 drums. I’m not sure what finish/wrap or just raw wood is underneath this, although I suspect at least the bass drum could have originally been a Walnut or Mahogany thermogloss finish as it has the type of hoops that came with only those kits. Remo clear Emperor batters and clear Ambassador resonant heads on the toms and Remo Powerstroke 3 batter and vintage Ludwig Striders clear resonant head on the bass drum. Delivery is available. Details and what's included: -24x14 Bass Drum-Has original claws on the batter side but the T-rods have been replaced with key rods. Someone at some point installed a tom mount and used the badge hole as one of the screw holes, you will want to fill this if you want the drums to look pretty. I suspect this was the second bass drum of a double bass set as it didn't originally have a tom mount but had a cymbal holder mount in the usual position that set up would have had.
