The product presents a serious risk of fire as the plug and fuse do not comply with the relevant British Standard. If an electrical fault occurs within the appliance or supply, the fuse within the plug does not offer sufficient protection. This could mean that the plug would explode from the wall and cause a fire.
The product also failed the electric strength test and the insulation between the input and output circuits broke down when a 2.92 kV test voltage was applied between the circuits. It was considered that in all probability, the plug is counterfeit.
