Fireplace Brass Andirons

These antique brass andirons with fire dog log holders stand 20.5" tall and can be used with a wood or gas fireplace. Made in the Georgian style with cabriole legs, they are in perfect condition and recently polished but will develop a lovely warm patina with use, reflecting firelight beautifully throughout a room. The fire dogs serve as a rack to elevate the firewood above the chamber floor and to prevent logs from rolling out of the fireplace. Andirons are designed to provide a space underneath the firewood for the lighter and more flammable materials that are used to start a fire and to promote a hotter fire. These were purchased as an antique 50 years ago and need a new home as I no longer have a fireplace.
