Since I am a local breeder, these shrimp are raised and well-adapted to Calgary's hard water.
Neocaridina are very hardy and can tolerate a wide range of water parameters. The key is stability. When doing water changes, dripping the water is recommended.
Food/Diet: Cherry shrimps are detritivores and will eat whatever other fish eat.
Examples: Spinach, Cucumber, Banana, Peas, Bloodworms, Brine Shrimp, Algae wafers,
Acclimation:
It is recommended to drip acclimate water from your aquarium to the shrimp for at least 30 min. before adding them to your tank. It is the stress and shock of wild temp swings and water chemistry that stresses the shrimp. Ease them into their new home, and they will be fine.
