Amazon frogbit is an easy freshwater plant that floats on the top of the water surface. Amazon frogbit helps provide shade for small tank mates, like baby shrimp or fry. It absorbs ammonia and nitrates in the water to help keep parameters at a safe level for your fish. When in the best conditions, frogbit can grow big and reproduce quickly.
We do have flat ramhorn snails in the tank with the plants, so if you don't want the snails, you can clean off the plant first before moving into your tank.
Optimal water parameters include:
Temperature between 72-82F (we have ours between 80-82F),
pH level between 6.0-7.6 (ours is around 7.4).
A medium to high full spectrum light helps support the frogbit grow.
Minimum tank size of 20 gallons.
Liquid fertilizer is a good supplement to add essential micronutrients to the water to promote growth (Seachem Flourish Advance, Aquarium Coop Easy Green).
