I have 2 Garra Rufa fish to rehome. I picked up a bunch of them on December 1 last year and have been growing them. They are great algae eaters. These fish never stop working! They are very peaceful fish and are good with community fish.
I have some in my 55 gallon community fish aquarium and some in my 55 gallon aquarium with convict cichlids and i also have some in my pea puffer aquarium. They are good in all.
There diet is most algae types (cladophora algae, fuzz algae, rhizoclonium algae, staghorn algae, oedogonium algae, green dust algae, green spot algae), detritus, and tiny animals such as zooplankton and arthropods. They eat more algae when fed less or no other food for short periods.
They like algae wafers and shrimp wafers. They like frozen blood worms and frozen brine shrimp.
They like an aquarium at least 30 gallons. They would be good in a planted aquarium or simple rock-scape would be a great option. Adequate water movement and a high level of Oxygenation are essential.
