Duck Decoys - 'Blacks'

My father carved the solid wood decoys in the early 1940s. I have eight or nine (8-9) "Black" decoys. They are in great "working" condition. The original paint has a nice patina and the glass eyes are in perfect original condition. (And, many have the original shotgun pellets buried in the wood and other have marks from the shotgun pellets.) Included are the anchors dad made by melting lead on my mum's kitchen stove and pouring the material into the moulds he made specifically for the purpose. I remember him explaining to me how important it was to select knot-free cedar wood so the finished decoy would float properly in the water. The decoy heads were carved separately from their bodies.
