Beware! There is a Facebook group often recommended to those seeking assistance, especially with questions pertaining to life on PEI. The group is called Ask PEI. This group began with seemingly good intentions but has now become a VERY TOXIC place, permitting all kinds of harmful comments, insults, and harassment. At least 80% of the questions posted receive rude comments, insults, purposely misleading replies, etc... Certain toxic group members will even gang up on the others in the comment section thinking they are funny. The group moderators allow almost all of it, even when the same group members repeated insult those posting questions. The Ask PEI admins have now announced that if you report toxic behaviour, or toxic members, you witness or experience, they will suspend you from the group because "it takes too much of their free time to deal with constant reports". The group rules make it seem like the group will be a safe space but it very rarely is. This group has become the playground of internet trolls.
