Mainenance Worker, Building

Duties: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs Empty trash cans and other waste containers Collect and dispose of tenant's garbage and recycling Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment Perform safety and security checks - monitor building alarm system. Show offices to prospective tenants Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens Work with minimal supervision Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas Salt parking lot and walkways

Requirements: Ability to communicate with tenants or building occupants. Knowledge of various maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, painting, gardening, cleaning. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks and lift heavy objects if required. Background in security/alarm monitoring and/or Bachelor's Degree in Criminology. Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
