We are seeking a positive; team oriented, energetic, experienced Farm Hand. This is a regular full-time permanent year round position with longer hours and occasional weekends required during the growing, harvesting and calving seasons.
Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Fencing, farm fencing maintenance and installation
• Mowing and vegetation maintenance
• Tractor, power mobile equipment operations
• Care, handling and feeding animals
• Guiding and moving animals from location to location
• Infrastructure maintenance, bedding and cleaning areas for animals
• ATV Operations
• Harvesting (silaging, combining)
• Operating haying and baling equipment
• Operating equipment for rock picking, harrowing and land rolling
• Grain storage, cleaning and moving
• Equipment and general maintenance
• Assist in cleaning the dryland, shop yards and snow removal as necessary
• Bin aeration set up and handling
• Miscellaneous labourer tasks as assigned
• Ability to climb heights and follow safety protocols
Qualifications:
• Class 5 Driver’s License – Class 1 an asset
• Operating a ATV is an asset
• Communicate in English both in email, text, writing and verbal
• Previous farm labourer experience is an asset
• Animal experience with cattle or similar livestock is an asset
• MUST be able to work in Canada (permanent resident, Canadian citizen, open work permit).
• Able to problem solve, thinking outside the box with attention to detail
