Description

Selling a really cool MIJ Greco G-40 acoustic, which is a copy of the rare Grammer acoustics made in Nashville in the late 60s/early 70s made famous by Porter Wagoner. It's set up with nice action, plays great, and is a wonderful strumming guitar.

Before the Mint Collection in the early 80s Greco only made acoustics under their own name for a short time in the early 70s, this one is probably 1973/1974, and there would have only been two models at a higher price point than this.

The guitar is in overall good shape. The tip of the left horn has broken at some point and been re-glued, but doesn't affect anything beyond aesthetics. The only other strange thing about this guitar is the pickguard. The Grammers, and Greco copies had very ornate pickguards, but this one has a regular dreadnought style one. I removed the pickguard and it looks like this guitar might have been special ordered with a regular pickguard or it was changed very early on as under the pickguard looks brand new and the wood has colored around it.

These are super, super, rare and I've priced it way under what I've seen them go for. I own another one, and I want this to go to a good home.

$500 firm.
