This 1991 Burny RLG-70 '59 Super Grade model is a copy of 1959 Gibson Les Paul, and was made in the Dyna Gakki factory in Japan. This era of Burny's don't have serial numbers, so I'm basing the year off of the pot codes, the green mylar caps, and the tenon style - all pointing to a 1991 Dyna build.

Everything on the guitar appears to be original, and this guitar is what I would consider to be good to very good condition, with a couple dings here and there, mainly on the bottom back edge of the body, and a couple on the top of the headstock, with a few others on the top of the bottom by the horn. Based on the little amount of play wear on the frets and fretboard, and the condition of the finish, I suspect it wasn't played too much over its 33 year life. All of the nickel hardware has various degrees of pitting, corrosion and/or rust, but overall it all looks and works well - the tuners work as expected and the bridge saddles all work as expected and have been cleaned and lubricated. All hardware has been cleaned and polished, so it's smooth - the patina you see is after clean and polish. This is a real deal relic, with natural aging.

The neck has a nice "C" shape carve - it's thin, although not super thin, and wide, and is a joy to play on. The mahogany used on this neck is beautiful. The fretboard is a medium brown rosewood with a a beautiful grain all the way up the fretboard, with acrylic pearl block inlays, and 22 medium jumbo frets, that have been played and show a little fret wear in the lower frets, but not much, and the frets have lots of life left in them.

The Original Burny VH-1 nickel covered humbuckers sound fantastic to my ears - they can handle all genres well, and they respond well to using the volume pot, as well as dynamic picking. They produce the classic rock sound perfectly, but can also play harder stuff easily. They can push an amp into break up, or clean up - they are very versatile. The original VH-1 stickers are still intact on both pickup rings.

Like all the guitars I sell, I test, thoroughly clean, and setup my guitars completely before I list them. Anything that is missing, damaged, or non original is mentioned in the listing.

I setup all my Gibson style guitars to Gibson factory specs - including neck relief, action, pickup height, intonation, and tailpiece height. So this guitar will be ready to play out of the box (after you tune it up - I ship my guitars with the strings loosened).

Overall, this is a great players grade guitar, that looks, plays, and sounds amazing.

If you're looking for a Japanese Les Paul from one of the most desirable brands of the time, that looks as good as it sounds, then you'll love this one.

    CONDITION ------------

    Overall it's in good shape.

I've tried to capture all of the flaws in the photos and in the description.

There are a few dings and dents in the finish, mainly on the back edge of the body, on the top of the headstock, and a couple on the top of the body by the horn. There's a few others here and there.

There is some fading and scratches on the black headstock face.

There is what looks like a faint hairline crack in the top coat, or it's an actual hair under the top coat, on the low-E side of the neck at the nut. The line curves perfectly, which I've never seen happen to the top coat - normally it's straight-ish line, which is why I suspect it could be a hair? When looking under a black light, it does not appear to be a crack.

The nickel hardware, pickup covers, bridge, tailpiece, tuners, and screws all have various degrees of pitting, corrosion and/or rust, but overall it all looks and works well.

All of the cream and black plastics have some scratches and swirling on them.

The "TREBLE" font on the poker chip has slightly worn off, mainly the bottom of the "TRE" part.

All of the non branded Kluson style tuners work properly. They are made in Japan (stamped on the underside of the tuners), and are likely Gotoh's.

Around the strap buttons there's some strap marks/swirling.

There is some fret wear on the frets, mainly below the 7th fret, but not much, and overall there's lots of life left in these frets.
