Coupled with the 498T and the 496R pickups is custom wiring which offers you the ability to split both pickups separately by pulling up on either tone knob. Axcess Heel Carve: The unique Axcess heel carve is one of the biggest differences between traditional Les Pauls & the Axcess. The traditional Les Paul is a bit restricting in the upper register due to the heel while the Axcess with it’s “heel-less” feel, allows full access to the upper register & all 22 frets with ease and totally unimpeded. Pickups: Powerful ceramic magnets make the 496R and 498T scorching humbuckers perfect for today’s rock. The the 496R/498T combo are fully balanced and clean-up beautifully when rolling off the volume on the guitar. These Gibson humbuckers have a clarity & sparkle that sound amazing clean as well. Belly Carve: Unique to the Gibson Les Paul Custom Axcess Floyd is the belly carve. The back is carved for a super comfortable fit at the ribs for hours of exceptional comfortable play.
