Hello, my name is Laura and I have been passionately involved in senior/health care for over 17 years. Initially, I started my career at Northwood, where I worked for nearly 7 years before venturing into private caregiving in 2014. Ever since then, I have been working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients, providing compassionate and committed caregiver support. I also have hands-on experience with younger individuals, dealing with cognitive and physical challenges. In recent years, my work extended to providing care to a quadriplegic man, which gave me diverse expertise in patient handling techniques. My working skill set is extensive, including, but not limited to oxygen administration, ambulation assistance, heavy patient lifting and transfer, hoyer lift operations, personal hygiene assistance, range-of-motion-exercise conduction, administrative duties, Alzheimer/Dementia care and many more. I am also experienced in providing palliative care. I have a CCA certificate, and I am certified for both First Aid and CPR and medication dispensary. My experience covers a wide range of patient diagnoses, including Quad/Paraplegic Care, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Dementia, Cancer, Stroke, Diabetes and many others. Regarding my personal qualities, I am caring, loyal, punctual, full of energy and an unabashed lover of life. I am looking for both Full-Time and Part-Time roles as a Caregiver/Companion or Personal Support Worker. I am available to work on all weekdays (Monday through Friday) during the morning, mid-day and evening.
