PERSONAL CARE WORKER (PCW) ATTENTION: ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST DOUBLE VACCINATED FOR COVID-19 AND HAVE AN UPDATED FLU VACCINE & also an updated BACKGROUND CHECK (Paper work required for all) Personal I am a 64-year-old male quadriplegic with a spinal cord injury at level C5 – C6. I use a power wheelchair on a permanent basis. I live in the Clayton Park area of Halifax, NS; and I am looking for a part-time Personal Care Worker (PCW). Requirements, ATTENTION: Applicant must have experience DOING PERSONAL CARE WITH A SPINAL CORD INJURED INDIVIDUALS, ALONG WITH SKIN CARE & OPERATION OF A PATIENT LIFT. (These are essential requirements) Applicants must be fluent in speaking and understanding the English language, for their understanding and and my own. , This ensures proper procedures are followed to comprehend how personal care is to be done and other care procedures carried out. I will require help with bathing, grooming, dressing, and bladder and bowel management. Some mobility requirements may include help with transfers, pressure relief movements, using a shower chair and electric patient lift for showers and in and out of bed transfers. Transportation: I live on a Metro Transit bus route Position Details: This position would be approximately 20 – 25 hours per week, mornings, starting at 8:00 am and evenings, starting at 8:30 / 9:00 pm.
